Kimi vs MiniMax vs GLM vs DeepSeek API pricing
Four Chinese AI labs, four price lists. This page puts Moonshot's Kimi, MiniMax, Z.ai's GLM and DeepSeek side by side, in USD per 1M tokens, with each price read on the maker's own pricing page. Together AI's prices for the same models are in a separate table and labelled as reseller prices. If we couldn't verify a figure, we left it out and say so.
Last verified: · every price re-read that day on platform.kimi.ai, docs.z.ai, platform.minimax.io, api-docs.deepseek.com and together.ai. They can change any of them. For the other model makers, see cheapest AI models.

Which is cheapest for what?
This section only restates the sourced prices above, and compares price rather than quality.
- Lowest price per token. GLM-5.3-Flash is the cheapest row at $0.15 input and $0.50 output per 1M tokens, a 3:1 blended $0.2375. MiniMax-M3.1-Flash is next at $0.15 and $0.60 ($0.2625). Both list a 1M-token context window. [Z.ai docs: Pricing · MiniMax platform: Pricing Overview · Z.ai docs: GLM-5.3-Flash/FlashX · MiniMax platform: Models]
- Work that can wait for off-peak hours. DeepSeek V4.1 Flash costs $0.30 and $1.20 at peak, but half that ($0.15 and $0.60) off-peak, which matches MiniMax-M3.1-Flash's price. DeepSeek V4 Pro drops from $1.32 and $3.96 to $0.66 and $1.98. Peak is 01:00 to 04:00 and 06:00 to 10:00 UTC, Monday to Friday, excluding Chinese public holidays. [DeepSeek API docs: Models & Pricing · MiniMax platform: Pricing Overview]
- Prompts that repeat a long prefix. DeepSeek V4.1 Flash has the lowest cached-input price at $0.006 per 1M tokens, then MiniMax-M3.1-Flash at $0.015, GLM-5.3-Flash at $0.03 and Kimi K3.1 Pro at $0.20. Moonshot also bills cache writes for its K3 models. We found no separate cache-write charge on the DeepSeek, Z.ai or MiniMax pricing pages. [DeepSeek API docs: Models & Pricing · MiniMax platform: Pricing Overview · Z.ai docs: Pricing · Moonshot Kimi API: Model Inference Pricing]
- Bigger models, price only. Among the larger models, DeepSeek V4 Pro is the cheapest at $1.32 and $3.96 ($1.98 blended at peak), then GLM-5.3 at $1.40 and $4.40, then Kimi K3.1 Pro at $2.00 and $10.00. This compares prices, not quality. For quality, see our tier lists. [DeepSeek API docs: Models & Pricing · Z.ai docs: Pricing · Moonshot Kimi API: Model Inference Pricing]
- Long answers (output-heavy work). Output is where the gap widens. Kimi K3.1 Pro's $10.00 output price is about 2.5 times DeepSeek V4 Pro's $3.96, and GLM-5.3-Flash's $0.50 is the lowest output price in the table. [Moonshot Kimi API: Model Inference Pricing · DeepSeek API docs: Models & Pricing · Z.ai docs: Pricing]
- Prompts above 512K tokens. MiniMax-M3 doubles its price above 512K input tokens ($0.60 input, $2.40 output, still after its 50% discount). Moonshot states that Kimi K3.1 Pro and K3 use flat pricing with no tiering by context length. The DeepSeek and Z.ai pricing pages we read list one price and say nothing either way, so check before sending a full 1M-token prompt. [MiniMax platform: Pricing Overview · Moonshot: Kimi K3.1 Pro quickstart · Moonshot: Kimi K3 quickstart · DeepSeek API docs: Models & Pricing · Z.ai docs: Pricing]
- Bulk jobs through a batch API. Moonshot bills batch requests for kimi-k3.1-pro and kimi-k3 at 60% of the standard price. We found no batch discount on the DeepSeek, Z.ai or MiniMax pricing pages. [Moonshot Kimi API: Model Inference Pricing · DeepSeek API docs: Models & Pricing · Z.ai docs: Pricing · MiniMax platform: Pricing Overview]
- Buying through Together AI. Together's input and output prices match the makers' for all six models we compared (for DeepSeek, its peak rate). The one difference is DeepSeek V4 Pro's cached input: $0.13 on Together against $0.044 from DeepSeek. Together is a reseller, so its prices can change on their own. What we couldn't verify or left out
We didn't find these on the official pages listed under Sources, or didn't check them, so we haven't guessed.
- Kimi, MiniMax and GLM on Together AI beyond the rows shown. We didn't check Together's prices for Kimi K3.1 Pro or MiniMax-M3, so they have no reseller row. [Together AI: Kimi K3 (reseller) · Together AI: MiniMax M3.1 Flash (reseller)]
- Older Kimi K2 models. Moonshot's K2 series (K2.7 Code and K2.6) is in its pricing table, but Moonshot says it stops offering it to new users from 31 October 2026 and plans to retire it by the end of December 2026, so we left it out. [Moonshot Kimi API: Model Inference Pricing]
- Subscription products. Moonshot says its API is pay-as-you-go and separate from the Kimi membership and Kimi Code products, and MiniMax's pricing page mentions M Plan subscriptions. Those are not per-token API prices, so they are not in these tables. [Moonshot Kimi API: Model Inference Pricing · MiniMax platform: Pricing Overview]
- Prices in other currencies and regions. We read the USD pricing pages only. Prices on any China-region platforms are not covered. [Moonshot Kimi API: Model Inference Pricing · Z.ai docs: Pricing · MiniMax platform: Pricing Overview · DeepSeek API docs: Models & Pricing]
- Quality, speed and cost per task. These are list prices per million tokens. We haven't measured quality or tokens used per task, and tokenizers differ between vendors, so the same text can cost a different number of tokens. [DeepSeek API docs: Models & Pricing · Moonshot Kimi API: Model Inference Pricing · Z.ai docs: Pricing · MiniMax platform: Pricing Overview]
- Rate limits and account requirements. Moonshot says its flagship models unlock after a top-up of at least $1, and that your top-ups set your rate limits. We didn't compare the limits of the other vendors. [Moonshot: Kimi K3.1 Pro quickstart · Moonshot: Kimi K3 quickstart]
- Tax. Moonshot says its prices exclude applicable taxes. The other pages we read don't say. [Moonshot Kimi API: Model Inference Pricing · DeepSeek API docs: Models & Pricing · Z.ai docs: Pricing · MiniMax platform: Pricing Overview]
